i particularly like this house because the architect intentionally wanted to use the wooden trunk as it is.. and did not try to shape the log into a straight beam. Gives the house a somewhat distorted but organic feel . its a pity that this idea of "organic" architecture can't be applied in the modern context of a high rise building. and even if it were possible.. the probability of the expression of 'organic' coming through as a contrived gesture is all too high

i quite like this wooden house.. it was designed by a prominent artist in korea yup

This blog hits a crisis.. cuz.. just yesterday.. i accidentally formatted my whole hard disk and formatted my computer..
which means.. all my pictures taken in korea are gone..
all thats' left of the pictures i've taken are found in this blog..

Dinner b4 the night begins.

Today is a special day because it was supposed to be the day the Korean and Singaporean archi students celebrate the end of exams tgt. But typical of archi students the turn out for such social events was pretty low. This was also partly due to the fact that some studios still have studio on Sat.. yup
Dish has studio on sat so he looks sian on fris.

Here's Adriel.. and i think this is the first time i've featured him in my blog! :) lol

And this is bbq pork we usually eat at Korean Pig restaurant.
its got a very nice marinated sauce which i will drink... after the meat is gone.. lol.. super salty but supEr nice! somehow the food that day didn't taste too good

Talent time at hanyang Autumn festival day 2 - Part 2 ( MY Winner's choice - 나 칭 구 PIKACHU!

This was my favourite group for the day.. more entertaining than the brown eyed girls even! LOL
super retarded performance which i entirely enjoyed!

the act started with this very nice nerdy looking guy appearing on stage. looking shy.. and 'demure' there were girls even like yelling out his name.. and i was telling Mel that Korean girls dig nerdy guys now, thats why he's got so many female supportors.. i really didn't know what to expect from this skinny lanky guy.

anyways.. the performance starts with a very obiang old fashion korean song.. and the guy was pretty good still.. but somehow.. it wasn't the right mood.. i was getting bored of the act already.. then... suddenly the lights on stage went ..

the crowd was momentarily stunned too... including myself. and the singer also looked perplexed.. and the obiang music stopped playing.

Then all of the sudden.. flames appeared on stage. and ASh came running on stage.. and he threw a Pokeball on the floor.. and then a version of Pikachu which had all its proportions wrong appeared on stage.. And

The lights came on all of the sudden..
and the once shy n demure looking nerdy guy starts yelling into the mike "나 칭 구 Pikachu!!!!" or "MY FRIEND IS PIKACHU!!!"

For my part i was momentarily shocked at the drastic change in mood.. lol.. and the music was so rock... and.. the Pikachu.. was totally dancing off beat to the music.. and was trying to do an airhump (also at a very off timing) oh gosh.. IT WAS SOOOO HILARIOUS!!!!!!!! COULDN't stop laughing LA!

The nerdy guy really had some attitude despite his appearance.. the lighting.. dramatism.. and the humor... should have won first prize just like it won my first prize!

Talent time at hanyang Autumn festival day 2 - Part 1

Day two of the autumn festival was definitely more happening as the crowd was much larger.. and people were already climbing on top of notice boards to have a clear view of the stage! Mel, Dish and i went there to join in the fun. :)

This was Mel's fav performer, whom i'll call emo guy.. he's got a super charming voice.. only thing is that.. he just stands and sings with minimal action.. UNLIKe my favourite group which i will be posting in my later post. ! MUAhaha

This group did a play about Korean National Service. and tried to make it a musical. but.. hmmm.. i couldn't understand the play. and hence i was bored.

This was the winner for the talent time yup. wasn't really into this performance tho

B4 i went for the 2nd day of the performance, i was telling dish n mel on our way to have dinner that the most cool dance to me are dances where people wear white masks with white gloves.. and well.. somehow Koreans know how to please an audience like me.

After the prize giving ceremony ... where my Pikichu group won 2nd place!(proud) the main event of the day happened. the brown eyed girls. the guys were crazier and wilder than the previous day.. oh boy.. and aparantly the brown eyed girls are more popular than Davich looking at the turn up on the two days. ahh well.. I still prefer Dabich! :)

I didn't know who dabichi was b4 the performance started on the first day.. but they made a deep impression on me! SO PRETTY LA! :) Hehe. >:)
They have a song which i particularly liked though b4 i saw them.. and i didn't know it was sung by them till they sang it. so even more bonus points for them!

I was just thinking how my blog suddenly is going through a change in the way that i post up pictures.. now my pictures posted are kind of oversized.. and not scaled to fit ... cuz i dont know how to do that properly yet with photobucket.. yet at the same time.. i sort of discovered some of the potential things you can do with photobucket.. like putting up a slideshow in the blog..a pretty nifty tool..

my mind drew a parallel of this to gothic architecture going through changes in style over time.. cuz like... gothic architecture only went through some form of change due to some big calamity.. like the black death.. or maybe a fire burning down a church.. so.... my blog is still going through this stupid phase of trying to adapt to photobucket.. :P :P :P 아 이...
